The Challenge

Kayak Pools Midwest, based in Indianapolis, IN, serves several states in the Midwest region. After a successful year in 2012, the company experienced a downturn. In January 2017, they turned to StrataBlue for a fresh approach to recover their numbers. StrataBlue analyzed their past performance and market research to create a digital marketing plan.

The Solution

As a Facebook Blueprint Certified Agency, StrataBlue launched Kayak Pools Midwest’s first social media marketing campaign using targeted Facebook Lead Generation Ads to capture user information for follow-ups by Kayak’s sales team. Initially focused on static images, the campaign later incorporated video, driven by 2017 research showing that video and social media were the top online activities, with Facebook alone generating eight billion daily video views. To leverage this trend, StrataBlue filmed a time-lapse video of Kayak’s team building a pool on-site, which was used in Facebook ads and other digital materials.

In addition to social media, StrataBlue implemented several other strategies, including Google AdWords, website migration, blogging, and email campaigns:

  • Google AdWords: Targeted ads to generate leads from regional searches like “pool installation company.”
  • Website Migration: Moved the Kayak Pools website to WordPress for better performance, SEO optimization, and user experience.
  • Blogging: Developed a content schedule to regularly publish blogs, increasing traffic and search visibility.
  • Email Drip Campaigns: Used HubSpot to create personalized, automated email campaigns, nurturing leads through their buying journey, which resulted in more conversions and increased revenue.
