A few weeks ago, we talked about how emojis may become their own language. Now, it looks like we may be wrong, but they are being officially incorporated in the English language as Oxford Dictionary has announced that their Word of the Year is an emoji. “Face with Tears of Joy” emoji to be exact.
“Face with Tears of Joy” emoji beat out other strong contenders for this title, including “ad blocker”, “on fleek” and “sharing economy.” The decision makers decided that the “Face with Tears of Joy” emoji represented the mood of 2015 best.
