Chicken nugget fans are jealous of Carter Wilkerson, who started a campaign to reach 18 million retweets for a year of free chicken nuggets at Wendy’s. His campaign, Nuggs For Carter, didn’t reach the threshold, but it did achieve the top most retweeted tweet of all time and Wendy’s felt gracious to still give the man his nuggs.
The tweet from a 16-year-old boy from Reno, Nevada surpassed Ellen DeGeneres’ famous Oscar selfie. He even caught attention from United Airlines. The airline company offered him a free flight to enjoy his nuggs wherever he wants, but instead, they got roasted by Twitter fans, mocking the airline and bringing up past PR nightmares. Regardless, Carter finally got his nuggs. How did the average social media user gain that much attention? It’s a mystery.
