AI has been developing exponentially since its founding in the 1950s. It’s no surprise that developments by major tech companies have already been influential in the 21st century. A new survey conducted by the University of Oxford and Yale University suggests surprising evidence for AI.
The survey brought together the expertise of 352 leading researchers to incorporate findings and benchmarks for the future. The survey suggests that there is a 50% chance machines will be better at tasks than humans by 2062. Some other these benchmark predictions for how machines will be better than us include:
- translating foreign languages by 2024
- writing high school essays by 2026
- driving trucks by 2027
- working retail jobs by 2031
- penning a best-selling book by 2049
- carrying out surgery by 2053
