Facebook Disappearing Messages

Facebook Disappearing Messages

It seems like Facebook won’t be happy until they’re directly competing with every social media platform out there. First, they added their video section to compete with YouTube, then they added their news section to compete with Twitter’s Moments. And now, Facebook is doing a “small test” in France in the efforts to potentially compete against Snapchat.

Facebook’s newest test is a feature in the chat options, allowing users to send messages that disappear after an hour. The messages are represented in the chat as empty bubbles after they are disappeared. There is no guarantee that Facebook will launch this new feature worldwide, but if they do, they’ll be making big moves into Snapchat’s territory, a territory Facebook wasn’t able to get into earlier when Snapchat declined the offer to sell to Facebook.

Facebook is trying to compete with even more social media sites.
