Facebook has made so many changes to the platform, sometimes it’s hard to remember what it used to be. While most of their changes have been for the better, there is one thing that we still miss…the old search bar.
Over the years, Facebook has done away with their old “advanced search” options. Back in the old days, you could search by hometown, current town, relationship status, job title, employer, school, gender, etc. It made it so much easier to find that friend of a friend who works at the company you’re applying for a job with. Or to find that person you matched with on Tinder when all you know about them is their first name and where they went to college.
Obviously, we weren’t the only ones missing these search options because someone else has created “Search Is Back.” This product allows users to get the old search options back as well as allowing users to search for photos, videos, events, likes, posts, etc. It even makes stalking your friends (or exes) easier as you can search for all photos with the same two people in it or look for events happening tonight that your friends were invited to.
While Facebook refused any comment on this product, its Platform Policies do not appear to prohibit this.
Maybe Facebook will get the hint that we want the old search back.
