Blogging can be a powerful business tool if used the correct way. Blogging shows that you are an authority on a particular subject, therefore reinforcing your brand. Blogging will also improve your SEO on Google and other search engines, bringing people to your website to solve their problems. Be consistent. Whether you are posting daily or weekly, consistency is key. Readers should know when they can expect to see a new blog post appear, so stick to a schedule.

Use Social Media. Share your blog posts on all of your social media outlets. Tweet it out, post it in a relative Google+ circle, share it on Facebook or post it in LinkedIn. Ask your followers, fans and customers what they want to know and use those answers as a guide for blog topics. Each guest blogger should have his/her own following, adding to the views. In turn, try to guest blog for other companies’ blogs to have your name exposed to new people. People will see you as an expert in your field and turn to you in the future.

Use relevant content. Don’t worry about using each blog post to sell your business, but instead give information that your target market will find useful. This will help you build a community around your brand. When you post interesting information that will engage your customers, they will continue coming back for more.

Answer questions. What do your customers want to know?  Listen! Your company should be an expert in your field, so educate your audience on subjects they’re asking about. This is also a great way to find new blog topics when you’re stuck in a rut.

Have personality. No one wants to read a stuffy blog post, so add some flair to your writing. Use case studies and examples of the topic and add in your own commentary.
